How to Add Personality to Your Bags with These Accessories

Once upon a time, bags were just bags – no frills, no fuss, just functional. I’m sure there was a time like that, though I honestly can’t remember it. It feels like bag accessories have been around forever, doesn’t it?

One thing I always emphasise when finding your style is the importance of injecting a bit (or a lot) of your personality into your outfits. I sometimes forget that I can style my clothes my way – inside out, backwards, or however else I please. Fashion is about making things your own, and it’s so much more fun when you play around with it!

Which brings us…to bag accessories! These little add-ons are perfect for giving your bags a fresh, fashionable twist. Here are some of the fun accessories I’ve come across:

1. Plushies/Mini Toys

Remember what I said about showing off your personality? Bag charms are the perfect way to do that. They can reflect your individual tastes and even complement your outfit. Personally, I’m obsessed with mini Miffy and Powerpuff Girl plushies—especially because I grew up watching the Powerpuff Girls. (But let’s be real, I’m team Bubbles all the way. No offence to Blossom or Buttercup, they’re great, but Bubbles and I just get each other.)

2. Bag Chains & Beads

Want to make a statement? Spell out your name or a favorite word with some funky bag chains and beads. As you can see below, it’s all about making it you. You’ve spent money on the bag so you might as well personalise it as much as you can.

3. Mini bags/ colourful wallets

As if one bag wasn’t enough, let’s add more! I really like the idea of adding a mini bag charm as an accessory:

4. Brooches

Lastly, I love brooches when it’s time to glam a bag up:

Accessorising is a fantastic way to make your bags more exciting and more you. There are so many businesses out there selling unique bag accessories, so don’t be afraid to experiment and find what best reflects your personal style. Catch you in the next post!
